To eliminate health disparities in the African American Community. The NBLIC is a non-profit organization recognized by the IRS as a 501C3.

OUR METHODOLOGY

The NBLIC utilizes a unique method based upon the Critical social Theory.  The methodology is called the Visible Messenger Model (VMM). Because of variations in cultural communication styles, real life experiences and real life messengers are the preferred choice for receiving  important information.

OUR HISTORY

In 1991, two East Texas nurses started a local coalition in Tyler, Texas to address the disproportionate burden of cancer death in the Black community.  This group of local community volunteers called themselves the NBLIC and they are still active in many local communities in East Texas quietly making a difference every day.
